Below is the full statement by the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) concerning its recording of the Malacca chief minister’s statement:
“The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) confirms that it had recorded a statement from Malacca Chief Minister Datuk Seri Idris Haron to assist a case under Section 23 of the MACC Act 2009, yesterday.
“Datuk Seri Idris is a witness in a case involving his officer, who was arrested by MACC last November.
“MACC officers had visited his office in Malacca at 2pm yesterday.
“However, information related to the case cannot be made public to preserve the integrity of the investigation.”
