No Malaysians affected by Pakistan shrine bombing

PUTRAJAYA: No Malaysians were affected by the attack in Sindh, Pakistan that killed at least 70 and injured more than 250 people, yesterday.

The Foreign Ministry said it will work with the High Commission of Malaysia in Islamabad and the Consulate General of Malaysia in Karachi to continue to monitor the situation.

“The government strongly condemns the heinous attack. This was the latest in a series of terrorist attacks since February 13 that have struck major cities namely Lahore, Quetta and Peshawar.

“The government is deeply saddened with the senseless act of violence deliberately directed at civilian targets designed to inflict maximum human casualties.

“These attacks have claimed the lives of many innocent civilians besides injuring an equally large number of others,” it said in a statement, today.

The Malaysian government extended its deepest condolences and sympathies to Pakistan and the family of the victims.

It hoped that the perpetrators of the crime will be expeditiously brought to justice.
