Special Branch officer killed in four-vehicle crash on NKVE

PETALING JAYA: A sergeant major, attached with the Selangor police headquarters' Special Branch division, was killed in a four-vehicle crash at KM18.1 of the north-bound New Klang Valley Expressway (NKVE) near Kota Damansara this morning.

The victim, Suvinder Singh Indur Singh, 52, who was travelling in a Toyota Camry, died on the spot in the 6.40am incident.

Two cars and two sports utility vehicles were involved in the accident.

Selangor Traffic Investigation and Enforcement Department chief Superintendent Kamaludin Mohamad said initial investigation revealed that Suvinder’s car had crashed into another car before veering into the middle lane.

A Land Rover SUV, in an attempt to to avoid the two vehicles overturned after the driver lost control of the vehicle.

“The driver of the Toyota Fortuner, while attempting to avoid the crash, lost control of his SUV and skidded into the emergency lane,” he said.

Kamaludin said Suvinder’s body has been taken to Universiti Malaya Medical Centre for a post-mortem.

He said investigation into the case is still ongoing.
