SHAH ALAM: A 50-year-old engineer, suspected to be suffering from a health problem, was found dead with a gunshot wound to the head at his home in Jalan 7/20a, Section 7 here yesterday.
His remains was found by his father-in-law, who returned home at 1.15pm and was welcomed by a loud explosive sound coming from the bathroom.
Police said the victim was killed on the spot due to serious injuries to the head. A shotgun was found next to his body.
Shah Alam deputy police chief Superintendent Nek Zaidi Zakaria said initial investigations showed that the victim, who has a firearms licence, had been suffering from depression in the last four years.
"The victim's father-in-law had just entered the compound of the house after fetching his grandchildren from a school in Section 9 when he heard the sound of a gunshot.
"He then rushed into the house to check, only to find the victim's lifeless body on the bathroom floor. The victim's shotgun was found next to his body," he said.
Nek Zaidi added that the case has been classified as sudden death and the body was sent to Klang Hospital for post mortem.
The victim is survived by his wife and four teenage daughters.
