Police looking for lorry driver involved in accident near Seremban R&R

NILAI: Police are looking for the 29-year-old lorry driver who is believed to have caused the accident at KM270.3 on the North-South Expressway which killed two people on Friday.

Nilai district police chief Superintendent Zaldino Zaludin said the man has been identified as P. Kanes from Bukit Rotan, Selangor.

“We have received the information about the man from the public. He is believed to be the driver of the trailer who fled the scene right after the accident occurred,” he said.

“Search effort to locate the man has been launched and we urge the man to come to Nilai police station to assist the investigation,” he said.

Zaldino also urged the public with information on the man to contact Nilai Traffic Enforcement and Investigation department chief, assistant superintendent Mohammad Nasrun Ab Rahman at 019-3468170, investigation officer Inspector Mohd Syafiq Azmy at 014-5082450 or Nilai police station at 06-7991222.

In the 5.30pm incident near the Seremban R&R yesterday, Lau Lian Huat, 62, and his wife, Lim Ah Gim, 60, were killed on the spot due to severe head and body injuries, when the trailer lost control and hit the road divider, before it swerved into the opposite lane and crashed into three vehicles including the couple's Perodua Alza.

Three people from two other vehicles were also injured in the crash.
