PETALING JAYA: “I’m sorry for stealing your motorcycle, bro. I didn’t mean to steal it. I just want the experience of riding a sport bike. I’m truly sorry.”
Those were written on the note left by a thief for the owner of Yamaha R6 sport bike whose vehicle was stolen from the Flora Damansara apartment yesterday.
The note was left on the window of the owner’s car which was also broken into by the same thief.
The owner, Mohd Khairul Anuar Mohd Jamil, 32, said when he found the note, he thought he was being pranked.
“The note was left on my car’s window, which he smashed, and it said my motorcycle is parked at Empire Damansara’s motorcycle parking lot.
“I thought it was a prank, but when I went to the location, I found my bike! I then lodged a police report on this matter,” he said when contacted today.
Mohd Khairul said he realised that his bike was missing at 8am yesterday when he was going to work.
“Other than the bike, my car was also broken into and the thief ran off with a few valuables such as sunglasses and SmartTag.
“I suspect the thief found the spare key to my motorcycle and took advantage of it,” he said.
However, he was grateful to have found his beloved motorcycle safe and sound.
“I love that bike and I bought it because I’ve been a superbike enthusiast since I was little. So when it went missing, I was devastated. I didn’t use it for race or whatnot, but more because of a hobby,” he said, adding that he had already forgiven the thief, but would let the police take further action.
“I forgive him, but what he did is still a crime and I hope police would arrest him soon. I don’t want other people to fall victim to the same crime,” he said.
Meanwhile, Petaling Jaya police chief Assistant Commissioner Mohd Zani Che Din confirmed to have received the report from the victim and said the case is still ongoing.
