KOTA BARU: Kelantan police today made available the pictures of the state’s eight most wanted persons.
They are wanted for various offences, including violent crimes and murder.
State police chief Datuk Hasanuddin Hassan said they were from Kota Baru and Tumpat.
“We hope by publishing their pictures, members of the public will be able to assist us in finding these criminals.
“Police believe that some of them are still in the state, while others are believed to be hiding in a neighbouring country,” Hasnuddin said after attending the state police contingent’s monthly gathering here today.
Also present were Kelantan Criminal Investigation Department chief Assistant Commissioner Wan Khairuddin Wan Idris, Kota Baru district police chief Assistant Commissioner Abdul Rahim Daud and other senior police officers.
Hasanuddin said state police had managed to apprehend 45 out of 860 wanted persons.
“The 45 were detained in various locations in the state in a series of operations from January until last month,” he said.
He urged those with information on the whereabouts of the wanted persons to contact the nearest police station.
