KUALA LUMPUR: A woman with the title of "Datin" was seen slapping a security guard in an argument which had something to do with a food delivery service at her condominium unit at Jalan Raja Muda Abdul Aziz here, on Thursday.
The guard’s insistence that the condominium’s security policy be observed, which was not to allow a food delivery person to deliver food directly to condominium units was said to have resulted in the Datin descending to the lobby.
Once downstairs, the infuriated Datin – accompanied by a man believed to be her husband – were seen locked in an argument with the guard and delivery person present, in a video which has since gone viral.
It was during this argument that the Datin struck the guard.
The Datin and her husband then stormed off, presumably back towards their unit.
The entire incident was captured by a closed circuit television (CCTV) camera, the footage of which quickly found its way online. The 39-second video instantly went viral and netizens were left foaming at the mouth over the Datin’s antics.
The sordid story did not end there, however.
At 11am on the following day (Friday, Aug 30), the assaulted security guard, who is from Nepal, filed a police report over the incident.
According to Dang Wangi police chief Assistant Commissioner Mohd Fahmi Visuvanathan Abdullah, the Datin will soon be summoned to have her statement recorded.
“The case is being investigated under Section 323 of the Penal Code for voluntarily causing hurt,” he added.
Section 323 provides for a sentence of up to a year in prison, a fine, or both, following a conviction.
