KUCHING: A teacher suffered lacerations and bruises to the head, cheeks and hands in an alleged attack by a 15-year-old student at a secondary school here, on Friday.
It is learnt that the incident occurred at 11.50am when the teacher was reprimanding the student for riding a motorcycle to school without a license.
“The suspect (suddenly) turned aggressive and allegedly punched the teacher’s left check, before hitting him (after he fell to) the ground.
“The teacher suffered a wound on the head, left hand and bruises to the cheeks.
“The attack was witnessed by other teachers, who quickly intervened and pulled the student away,” said Song district police chief Deputy Superintendent Rowney Michael Jalak.
He added that the case is being investigated under Section 325 of the Penal Code, which carries a sentence of a maximum seven years’ imprisonment and fine, upon conviction.
