KUALA LUMPUR: A police inspector was found dead at a house in Jalan Selingsing, here, today.
Sentul police chief Assistant Commissioner Beh Eng Lai said the district police headquarters control centre received an emergency call at 3.30pm.
"Investigations revealed that the 35-year-old victim was attached to the Dang Wangi police headquarters.
"Preliminary investigations found that the victim was believed to have shot himself in the head with a pistol," he said in a statement today.
Beh said a medical team confirmed the victim's death at 3.59pm.
"The cause of what happened has yet to be identified and is still under investigation, this case has been classified as sudden death," he added.
He said the Kuala Lumpur City police urged those with information to come forward to have their statements recorded.
