Trio arrested for being paid by Ah Long to splash red paint and throw Molotov cocktails

Kulai : A woman was among three locals arrested by the police for being commissioned by Ah Long for mischief by fire and splashing paint on the houses of moneylenders here.

Kulai Police Chief Superintendent Tok Beng Yeow the local suspects, aged between 25 and 43, were arrested during three separate raids done between 9am and 2.30pm around Seri Alam, Iskandar Puteri and Johor Bahru, yesterday.

"Each of them was arrested at home and on the side of the road after being suspected of involvement in a case of mischief by fire and splashing paint in the area of ​​Kulai district," he said in a media statement, today.

From the raids, Tok said, his team also confiscated a motorcycle and some equipment believed to be used to carry out the activity.

As the result of the interrogation, all the suspects admitted to being paid up to RM1,300 to spray paint on two houses and throw molotov cocktails at a house in this district. "Checks are underway to probe their involvement in other criminal cases within and outside the district," he said.

Tok said, the results of the review found that all the suspects had no previous criminal records and they were now remanded for six days until Jan 16 for further investigation.

He said the case was investigated according to Section 435 and 427 of the Penal Code for mischief by fire and mischief that leads to property damage respectively.
