Two enforcement officers remanded over driving test bribes

KUALA LUMPUR: The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) on Wednesday detained two enforcement officers of an agency for allegedly taking bribes from driving test candidates.

In a statement, Selangor MACC said the senior officers, a man and a woman, promised the candidates they would get licences in return for payments.

The anti-graft agency said the duo, in their 40s, were arrested at the Selangor MACC headquarters.

The woman was detained for allegedly receiving a bribe of RM1,750. The man allegedly took RM750.

"On Feb 9, a remand application was made by Wan Norrazif Mohameed before magistrate Nur Faizah Abdul Sani in Shah Alam.

"Both suspects will be remanded for five days until Feb 13," the MACC statement read.
