KUALA LUMPUR: Police have arrested three policemen on suspicion of stealing RM85,000 from a premise during a recent raid in Lebuh Pudu, here.
City police chief Datuk Allaudeen Abdul Majid in a statement said the police had received a report regarding stolen cash amounting RM85,000 at 12.36am on Dec 22.
"Investigation by the police to detain a total of three police personnel aged between 26 to 35 years old who are suspected to be involved in the stolen cash.
"The case is being investigated under Section 380 of the Penal Code, where all detained individuals will be remanded for four days from Dec 23 to Dec 26."
Allaudeen also urged the public to not make any speculation on the case as investigations are still ongoing.
"This case is still under investigation and the public is also urged not to make any speculations that could disrupt the investigation or cause public concern," he said.
Earlier on Dec 21, Over 1,000 members and officers of the General Operations Force (PGA) surrounded 'mini Dhaka' at Jalan Silang.
The operation began at 11am to raid the colony of foreigners, who were seen as becoming increasingly bold and behaving like locals.
Fully armed security forces and special equipment were seen entering each premise involving four blocks in the area.
A total of 1,101 immigrants were detained following the raid.
Authorities seized 100 cartons of cigarettes worth RM 22,000, 90 cartons of alcoholic drinks worth RM48,000, and unapproved medicines worth RM34,530.
