SUNGAI BULOH: The suspect remanded in connection with the murder of Nur Farah Kartini Abdullah, 25, is a policeman.
Selangor police chief Datuk Hussein Omar Khan said the suspect has been identified as a policeman posted in Perak.
"Based on initial investigations, the scene where the body was found is believed to be the primary crime scene.
"The body had already started to decompose when it was found," he said when contacted on Tuesday.
Meanwhile, Perak police chief Datuk Azizi Mat Aris said the suspect, 26, is a lance corporal attached to the Slim River police station.
"He has been serving at that police station for five years" he told reporters after the handing over of duties ceremony on Tuesday.
Nur Farah Kartini was initially reported missing on July 12.
A colleague of the Sarawakian pleaded for her to return home and unite with her family.
The victim, who worked at a car rental company, helped deliver a rental car to a customer in a residential area at Tanjung Malim about 8am on July 10.
She was allegedly seen leaving in a red-coloured car after completing the delivery.
Her body was found near the Felda Gedangsa area in Hulu Selangor about 6pm on Monday.
