BATANG KALI: A relationship dispute is what led to the murder of Nur Farah Kartini Abdullah.
Selangor police chief Datuk Hussein Omar Khan said investigations revealed that to be the motive behind the murder.
"We believe the motive for the murder is connected to relationship dispute.
"We have completed investigations into the case and have received instructions to charge the suspect at the Kuala Kubu Baru Court tomorrow," he told reporters on the sidelines of a crime prevention carnival at the Masjid Bandar Utama here on Thursday.
Deputy Inspector General of police Datuk Seri Ayob Khan Mydin Pitchay, and Deputy Selangor police chief Datuk S. Sasikala Devi also attended the event.
On efforts to locate evidence in connection with the case, Hussein said they had found enough evidence to charge the suspect.
"The cause of death of the victim is still under investigation by the Sungai Buloh Hospital.
"They are waiting for the laboratory findings in order to summarise the cause of death," he said.
It was earlier reported that the policeman, detained in connection with the murder of Nur Farah Kartini will be charged at the Kuala Kubu Baru Court tomorrow.
She was reported missing on July 11.
The victim, who worked at a car rental company, had delivered a rental car to a customer in a residential area in Tanjung Malim around 8am on July 10.
She was seen leaving in a red car after completing the delivery.
Following the arrest of the suspect who is a Lance Corporal based at the Slim River police station, Nur Farah Kartini's body was found in an oil palm plantation near Felda Gedangsa in Hulu Selangor around 6pm on July 15.
