Police summon parents of hospital staff imposter

PUTRAJAYA: Police have summoned the parents of a 14-year-old girl who posed as medical staff at Sultan Idris Shah Hospital (HSIS) in Serdang to the Sepang District Police Headquarters (IPD) tonight to assist in investigations.

Sepang District Police chief, Assistant Commissioner Wan Kamarul Azran Wan Yusof, said investigations revealed that the girl's father is unemployed, while her mother works at a shopping center in the capital.

The teenager's larger build compared to others her age made it difficult to spot her, he said.

"Police will investigate whether the suspect has any mental health issues", he added.

Earlier, it was reported that the teenage girl was detained after posing as a medical officer at HSIS.

She was arrested following a hospital report about a teenager who claimed to be a medical officer and offered to assist with a surgery yesterday afternoon.
