SEPANG: A fortune teller with the title of 'Datuk' has been arrested by police to facilitate investigations into the alleged rape of a woman.
District police chief ACP Wan Kamarul Azran Wan Yusof confirmed receiving a report from a victim yesterday.
"We have opened an investigation paper under Section 376 of the Penal Code. The suspect has also been arrested to assist with the investigation," he said when contacted today.
Earlier, Harian Metro reported that a woman's intention to seek a fortune teller's advice to change her life turned into a tragic episode when she was traumatised after allegedly being raped by the man over the past year.
The woman, known as Linda, 24, said she was initially deceived by the services offered by the man through advertisements on social media.
The man, who was called 'master,' convinced her that he was her life partner and that she needed to be his girlfriend if she wanted to have good fortune.
