KUALA LUMPUR: Police have found no criminal element in the death of singer Muhammad Nidza Afham Mokhtar, 23, who was found in Sungai Klang on Aug 14.
Federal police Criminal Investigation Department director Datuk Seri Mohd Shuhaily Mohd Zain said the results of the investigation by the Criminal Investigation Department were consistent with the Shah Alam Hospital autopsy report.
"The case of his death remains as announced by the Selangor police chief Datuk Hussein Omar Khan as sudden death (SDR).
"CID is still continuing the investigation, including examining and revisiting the scene of the incident if there are elements of crime," he said after launching the Behavioral Science Course at the Police Academy in Cheras on Wednesday.
Mohd Shuhaily said the presence of investigating officers at the location was to examine if there was CCTV footage or to speak with witnesses.
"If there are indications, we will collect all the evidence and reclassify the case," he said.
Nidza Afham was believed to have gone jogging at the Sultan Suleiman Stadium, Klang alone before his disappearance was noticed at 9pm, Aug 13 last.
