Police investigating after video of alleged stalking in Klang goes viral

KUALA LUMPUR: Police will track down and record a statement from the individual who filmed a video showing a man following a woman in the Aeon Bukit Tinggi parking lot in Klang.

South Klang police chief Assistant Commissioner Cha Hoong Fong said the police have detected a 53-second video uploaded on the social media platform X, showing a man following a woman in the Aeon Bukit Tinggi parking lot in Klang, believed to be intending to rob her.

"No reports have been filed with the police concerning this incident.

"Checks and verification from the security guard on duty at the Aeon supermarket found that the man is a foreigner and a homeless person," he said in a statement today.

He said the man typically asks for money from the public politely and has never caused any problems.

Despite this, he said, police will make efforts to locate the man as a precaution.

"The police advise the public to refrain from sharing the video to prevent causing panic within the community," he added.

Police also urge anyone with additional information about this incident to come to the nearest police station or contact the district police at 03-33762222 to facilitate the investigation.

In the viral video, a woman driving in the parking lot warned the person being followed and advised her to get into the car as soon as possible.
