Video of collision between police car and sedan goes viral

SHAH ALAM: A video of a collision between a police patrol car and a sedan has gone viral on social media.

Shah Alam district police chief Assistant Commissioner Mohd Iqbal Ibrahim said the incident occurred at 8.10pm on Saturday at the Persiaran Kayangan-Persiaran Bestari junction.

"The patrol car was responding to a call about a fight at Section 7, and had activated its sirens and strobe lights as it crossed the junction, when it was hit by a car.

"Both policemen in the patrol car suffered injuries to their foreheads, hands, faces, and heads, and were rushed to the Shah Alam Hospital for treatment," he said in a statement on Monday.

He said the patrol car involved suffered damage to the left fender, passenger door, and windscreen, while the other car sustained damage at the bumper, bonnet, radiator, and other engine components.

"We are investigating the case under Section 43(1) of the Road Transport Act for driving without exercising due care and attention, or without reasonable consideration for other individuals using the road.

"Those who witnessed the incident are urged to come forward and help with investigations," he said, adding that they could contact Inspector Zaharizul Zamri at 019-3229 097.
