Man who wielded parang in viral Teluk Gading clip arrested, says police

KUALA LANGAT: A 24-year-old caused a scene by brandishing a parang at others after being accused of vomiting and throwing rubbish out of his vehicle, which hit another car, in Telok Panglima Garang here yesterday.

A 52-second long clip, which has gone viral on social media, shows the man in a rage holding and pointing the sharp object toward other road users.

Kuala Langat police chief Superintendent Ahmad Ridhwan Mohd Nor @ Saleh confirmed that they received reports from the public on the incident at 10.50pm.

He said the police arrived about 10 minutes later and arrested the suspect and seized the sharp object from him.

"Checks confirmed that the sharp object was with the suspect at the time of the incident.

"At the same time, another man, aged 23, and two women, aged 22 and 24, were also detained at the scene.

"All individuals involved are friends," he said when contacted today.

Ahmad Ridhwan said all four suspects arrested in connection with the case would be remanded for three days starting today until Tuesday to facilitate the investigation.

He added that the case is being investigated under Section 427 and Section 506 of the Penal Code as well as Section 6 of the Corrosive and Explosive Substances and Dangerous Weapons Act 1958.
