KUALA LUMPUR: The suspect in the murder of interior designer Muhammad Sharqawi Abu Bakar, 36, is set to be charged in Petaling Jaya Court tomorrow.
Petaling Jaya District Police Chief Assistant Commissioner Shahrulnizam Jaafar confirmed the matter in a brief statement today.
The 50-year-old unemployed suspect was one of three individuals remanded at an apartment in Kuala Lumpur on Sept 20.
Regarding the motive, Shahrulnizam said that investigations revealed the suspect had allegedly broken into the victim's home with the intention of theft.

On Sept. 16, Muhammad Sharqawi was discovered at his residence on Persiaran Meranti, Bandar Sri Damansara, with more than 20 stab wounds.
The case was initially treated as a break-in but was later reclassified as robbery leading to death after several personal items were reported missing.
