KAJANG: Two videos circulating on the Telegram messaging application are alleged to show policemen extorting money from a foreign couple.
The first video shows two men in blue uniforms, wearing motorcycle helmets and standing next to two motocycles talking to a man wearing a grey T-shirt and jeans.
As the three men talk, a woman is seen slumped against a parked car, her head covered in a piece of cloth. She appears to be unconscious or unwell.
One of the men in blue uniforms is then seen opening the motorcycle box and instructing the individual to place something inside. The individual then takes something out of his jeans pockets and places it in the box.
In the next video, the individual is appears to be trying to revive the woman.
The man carries the woman over his shoulder as two in blue uniforms get on their motorcycles and leave.
A caption accompanying the videos claims that the incident occurred at Taman Taming Jaya, Balakong.
Selangor police chief Datuk Hussein Omar Khan said they have received a report from a foreign man over the video which occurred along Jalan Taming Sari, here.
"Two policemen attached to the Kajang police headquarters have been arrested.
"We have opened an investigation under Section 384 of the Penal Code for extortion," he said adding that both suspects have been remanded until July 30 to help with further investigations.
