Police finalising investigations in bullying case involving Tam Spider's son

KUALA LUMPUR: Police are completing two out of three investigation papers related to a bullying case at a boarding school, which also involves the son of singer Tam Spider.

Kuala Lumpur police chief Datuk Rusdi Mohd Isa said all three investigation papers were submitted to the Attorney-General's Chambers, with only one having reached a decision.

He explained that the A-GC instructed two of the investigation papers to be revised, while the other directed an internal investigation by the school.

"However, this decision can be reviewed at any time if new developments arise.

"The two other papers have been returned with instructions for further completion. Insha-Allah, they will be finalised soon," he said.

As of now, the total number of police reports related to the case remains at 12.

Previously, Tam (real name Rustam Mustafah) revealed that his 14-year-old son was a victim of bullying. Other parents, including Khir, have also come forward to demand action against six bullies.

Rusdi reported that some reports were made by the victims, while others were from parents of other victims. Initial investigations found that the victims were aged 14 to 16, while the bullies were 17.

Three investigation papers were opened under Section 323 of the Penal Code for causing injury.

The investigation also revealed the involvement of a dormitory warden, and police have recorded statements from the individual.

"Based on reports, some victims sustained injuries to the ear and bruises on their arms and legs. No weapons were used during the bullying, only hands and feet," he said.

The police will also take statements from the six students accused of bullying on Oct 13 and 14.
