SHAH ALAM: An "enterprising" digital sales officer has been earning over RM50,000 in profits from the sale of vape liquid, chocolates and other snacks laced with ganja.
The 37-year-old suspect was arrested at around 1.30pm in front of a condominium at Damansara on Nov 6.
Selangor police chief Datuk Hussein Omar Khan said police also seized 8.5kg of ganja when they arrested the suspect.
"The suspect then led police to a condominium unit where police found 37.96kg of ganja, 140.9kg of marijuana buds, 847grams of mushrooms laced with drugs and 80ml of vape liquid laced with ganja.
"Based on our investigations, the drugs were worth RM6.19 million," he told reporters here today.
He said investigations showed the suspect was believed to work alone and received his supply via courier from abroad.
"The suspect is believed to have sold the produce online via Telegram and sent the produce using delivery riders.
"Investigations revealed the suspect initially packed the drugs and other products at his house before renting the condominium," he said, adding that the suspect made about RM50,000 in profits a month from his sales.
Hussein said checks revealed the suspect sold the marijuana buds for RM36 per gramme.
"He also sold juices, chocolates and other snacks laced with drugs.
"Each vape laced with ganja was sold for about RM600," he said..
Hussein added that police believe the suspect also sold the drugs and produce to buyers in other states as well as neighbouring countries.
Hussein said they also seized a Proton X50 car worth RM76,000.
"Checks revealed the suspect was married and has two children," he said.
