SERI ALAM: Federal narcotics police arrested a man who allegedly stored RM872,256 worth of syabu in an abandoned lorry parked in a housing estate Johor Jaya, here, on Nov 25.
The Bukit Aman Narcotics Crime Investigation Department (JSJN) officers also seized 27,258g of syabu, in the special operation.
District police chief Superintendent Mohd Sohaimi Ishak said the 32-year-old suspect, who tested positive for methamphetamine, is a repeat offender with 15 prior criminal records.
"The suspect is believed to have acted as the caretaker for the drugs, which were stored in the lorry prior to distribution," he said in a statement, today.
He said the lorry was deliberately chosen for its inconspicuous location in a residential area, which enabled the drug trafficker to operate under the radar.
The suspect has been remanded, to facilitate investigation under 39B of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952.
