PETALING JAYA: The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission chief commissioner has clarified that several open files involving the Human Resources Development Corporation (HRD Corp) are still being probed.
Tan Sri Azam Baki said the investigations covered various aspects, including procurement and investments.
"I was alerted today over news that the Public Accounts Committee (PAC) was informed by an officer that there have been no violations of the MACC Act about the management of HRD Corp.
"We are not sure which angle of investigation this officer was quoted on or on which issue (being investigated).
"Generally, we have opened up a few files against HRD Corp," he told reporters during an International Anti-Corruption Day event here today.
He said they had directed other officers to inform the PAC that his comments might only be in reference to one of the open files being probed.
"All investigations are ongoing, and the files are still with the investigators. No decision has been made by the deputy public prosecutor so far.
"It could be that this officer was only looking at one scope (of the investigations). That could be what transpired in the PAC meeting," he said.
It was earlier reported that MACC concluded that there have been no violations of the MACC Act about the management of HRD Corp.
PAC, in its report today, said the matter was confirmed by MACC officer Mohd Fuad Sedet during the proceedings with the graft-buster.
