ISKANDAR PUTERI: Police arrested two men who tried to break into a house in Taman Damai Jaya here in Skudai on Friday.
The occupant, aged 42, was awakened by the sound of shattered glass at 4am. She immediately alerted the police.
District police chief Assistant Commissioner M. Kumarasan said policemen were deployed to the house where they arrested two men aged 22 and 24.
Initial checks revealed that both men had records related to criminal and drug offences.
Police obtained a remand order on the suspects until Dec 20 to facilitate investigations.
They face up to 14 years in prison, fines or whipping if convicted.
