Taman Sri Treh armed robbery suspects remanded for 7 days

MUAR: Two men and a woman suspected of being involved in an armed robbery with a parang at Taman Sri Treh here last Tuesday have been remanded for seven days starting today.

The remand order was granted by Magistrate Suzana Mokhtar until Dec 27 to facilitate investigations under Section 395 and Section 397 of the Penal Code.

The three suspects, all in their 30s, were escorted to the court complex around 9am.

The two suspects were arrested at around 9am yesterday in a car by the roadside in Sungkai, Perak.

Also arrested was one of the suspects' girlfriend, who was with them at the time.

In the incident, which occurred at 6.20pm last Tuesday, a family faced a terrifying moment when two men, armed with parang and wearing face masks, raided their home.

The two suspects' actions were captured on the house's closed-circuit television (CCTV) and later went viral on social media.
