KUALA LUMPUR: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim today announced that the government will provide RM300 in Bantuan Khas Perhargaan (Appreciation Special Aid) to civil servants grade 56 and below.
He also announced RM200 in aid to various types of government pensioners under the scheme.
Anwar, who is also the Finance Minister, said the special aid is expected to benefit 1.3 million civil servants including those appointed contractually as well as more than one million pensioners.
"We are committed to restructure the salary of civil servants according to the financial capability of the government," he said at the launching of the 'Madani Economy: Empowering the People' framework on the country's economic direction here today.
"I have instructed to Chief Secretary to the Government to disburse the special aid in two weeks time," he said.
