Sports car crashes into Honda EX5, kills motorcyclist

KUALA LUMPUR: A motorcyclist was killed when a Ferrari skidded and crashed into his motorcycle at KM27.4 of the Karak highway this morning.

In the 9.40am incident, T Desmond Daniel, 29, was riding his Honda EX5 motorcycle to the city when a Ferrari F430 Scuderia driver lost control of the sports car, skidded to the left lane before hitting the highway barricade and slammed into the rear of the small-engined machine.

There was a 13.2-meter skid mark on the dry three-lane stretch.

Selangor traffic police chief deputy superintendent Sahimi Husin said the victim died at the scene due to severe head injuries.

The 47-year old car driver, who was driving from Genting Highlands to Ampang, was seriously injured and rushed to the Selayang Hospital for treatment.

He said police investigation is ongoing to ascertain the cause of the crash.
