KOTA TINGGI: A weekend holiday trip ended in tragedy when a couple was killed and their 2-year-old daughter injured when their car was involved in a head-on collision with another vehicle at Km59.7 of the Senai Desaru Expressway today.
Nurul Farehah Sawal, 29, and husband Muhamad Faisal Ramli, 30, were killed instantly in the 10.45am incident when their Perodua MyVi strayed into the path of an oncoming Proton Waja.
Their daughter, whose identity has not been disclosed by police, was seated in the back of the car was seriously injured .
The driver of the Proton Waja was also seriously injured, while the driver and passenger of a Honda HRV which crashed into the rear of the Waja suffered light injuries.
Deputy district police chief Deputy Superintendent Mohamed Sazif Mohamed Subri said the bodies of the victims were taken to Kota Tinggi Hospital for post mortem examinations while the injured were taken to Sultan Ismail Hospital for treatment.
