SHAH ALAM: Seven 10-tonne lorries and two trailers were destroyed in a fire that razed a factory at Bukit Kemuning here this morning.
No casualties were reported in the incident which reportedly started at 12.50am.
Selangor Fire and Rescue Department operations management officer Alimaddia Bukri said the first fire engine arrived at the scene at 1.07am and found that several lorries had caught fire outside the factory compound.
“When the first fire engine from Shah Alam fire department arrived, the fire was at its height.
“Initial findings indicated that the lorries were lined with canvas while the trailers were filled with boxes.
“The blaze was finally controlled from spreading at 2.33am and entirely doused at about 5am,” he said.
Alimaddia said the cause of the fire and the losses incurred were being investigated.
