SHAH ALAM: A five-year-old boy fell to his death from the sixth floor of an apartment at U11, Shah Alam at 12.10am today.
Shah Alam district police chief Assistant Commissioner Shafien Mamat said initial investigations revealed that the child’s father had left the victim and his three-year-old brother unattended at home.
He said the victim’s father had gone to meet a friend downstairs.
“The victim’s younger brother was asleep then and the father had locked the door from the outside.
“It is believed that the victim had climbed the toilet and went out via the bathroom window, where he slipped and fell," he said.
Shafien said the body of the deceased was sent to the Shah Alam Hospital for a post-mortem examination. They are currently awaiting results.
He said the case has been classified as sudden death.
