SEREMBAN: A woman was killed while a man was seriously injured in an accident involving four vehicles at Km 264.7 North-South Expressway (PLUS) south bound early today.
Seremban District deputy police chief, Supt Sulizmie Affendy Sulaiman said in the 5.30am incident the driver of a Honda Accord lost control of the car and hit the right side of a lorry before it skidded and rammed into the road divider.
“A Toyota Avanza car then stopped to help. However, a Proton Waja car couldn’t stop in time and hit both the Honda Accord and Toyota Avanza,” he said when contacted by Bernama here today.
Due to the impact, the 31-year-old woman passenger in Proton Waja was trapped in the car and confirmed dead at the scene due to severe injuries.
“The driver of Proton Waja, a 27-year-old man, suffered serious injuries and is being treated at the intensive care unit of the Tuanku Jaafar Seremban Hospital (HTJS).
“The 25-year-old Honda Accord driver, and Toyota Avanza driver, 24, both male, suffered minor injuries and are treated in the same hospital while the 22-year-old lorry driver escaped unhurt,” said Sulizmie adding that the case was investigated under Section 41 (1) of the Road Transport Act 1987. -- BERNAMA
