STPM students in Terengganu receive RM1,000 cash incentive each

KUALA TERENGGANU: The State Government handed out RM2.2 million cash incentives for 2,107 STPM students throughout the state.

Form Six students in 47 schools from eight districts received RM1,000 each from Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Ahmad Razif Abdul Rahman for their preparation for the examination which begins on Nov 6.

Razif said the State Foundation provided incentives to all STPM candidates since 2008, and 18,834 students have benefitted thus far.

"The Foundation had spent nearly RM19 million for STPM candidates alone," he added.

He said 70 students achieved straight As last year compared to 50 students in 2015.

"We hope the number of excellent students will increased to 90, when the results are announced next year," he told reporters at the Duyong Marina &Resort, here, yesterday evening.

Also present were State Foundation director Ishamudin Hashim, Kuala Nerus district office Datuk Tengku Farouk Hussin Tengku Jalil and State Education director Shafruddin Ali Hussin.
