More than 400,000 candidates to sit for SPM beginning Nov 6

KUALA LUMPUR: A total of 443,883 candidates will sit for this year’s Sijil Peperiksaan Malaysia (SPM) examination from Monday to Dec 4.

The Education Ministry in a statement today said the candidates will do the examinations at 3,363 centres nationwide.

The ministry has appointed 35,341 examination invigilators to ensure the examinations are conducted smoothly.

Out of the total candidates, 386,331 are from government schools, government-aided schools and government-aided religious schools.

Meanwhile, 8,461 candidates are from schools under government agencies such as the Mara Junior science colleges; state religious secondary schools (8,346); private schools registered with the ministry (14,883); private candidates (23,886); and, Sekolah Menengah Agama Rakyat (1,976).

“The Malaysian Examination Board would like to remind all candidates to refer to the examination schedule for information on the time and instructions to be adhered to during the examination. Candidates are also reminded to bring their respective identity cards to the examination centres,” the ministry said.
