9.30am UPDATE:
Flash floods which hit parts of Klang and Shah Alam following a 4.30am downpour have left several locations here inundated by one-metre deep water, resulting in impassable roads and stranded motorists.
The incident also left a lorry driver and his assistant trapped in their vehicle in front of Aeon Bukit Raja here at about 5am. The duo eventually escaped unharmed, as they managed to get out of the vehicle and wade through the floodwaters to safety.
Selangor Fire and Rescue Department assistant director of operations Mohd Sani Harul said they received calls as early as 5am on floods in Bandar Bukit Raja and Taman Rasah, and dispatched teams of firemen to monitor the situation and assist the public.
However, he added that no evacuations have been ordered, as floodwaters began to subside at 8.30am. -- With additional reporting by Hariz Mohd.
