TAIPING: “Please take care of the baby. I am sorry I have to let him go, but I will be looking from afar.”
This was the excerpt from a note found next to a newborn baby boy who was left in a box in next to a home at Kampung Kurnia Jaya here this morning.
The note, believed to have been penned by the baby's mother, also pleaded for the house owner not to disclose the circumstances to the child when he grows up.
“Please do not tell him. Tell him uncle and auntie (the house owners) are the biological parents. I am sorry again.
“I could not take care of him but I love him dearly. I am sorry, I come from afar with hopes that he would have a better life.
"Let him lead a happy life, do not let people talk bad about him or call him an illegitimate child. Please take care of him and do not let anyone else know except the family,” the note read.
Acting Taiping police chief Superintendent Razlam Ab Hamid said the baby, wrapped in a length of curtain cloth and placed on a plastic bag, was found by the house owners about 2.15am today.
