KUALA LUMPUR: A video showing a young man answering his phone while doing a ‘wheelie’ stunt had left netizens amused.
Uploaded on a Facebook group, Metafora Anafora yesterday, the man, despite not wearing any protective gears including a helmet, was shown performing the stunt at an unknown location using a Yamaha motorcycle.
A wheelie or wheelstand is an act of raising the front wheel of a motorcycle or bicycle off the ground and keeping it in the air or riding the bike in that position.
In the video, the man, who was in the midst of performing the stunt, stopped and answered his phone.
A clear background voice talking to him suggested that it was just a mock call to impress the viewers.
They talked briefly about where to purchase the latest iPhone before ending the call.
The minute-long video was apparently taken in a secluded village road, although the location could not be ascertained.
The clip gained more than 34,000 views within a day after it was posted on the public Facebook group.
In Malaysia, the wheelie stunt is commonly associated with 'Mat Rempit' who usually performed it alongside the 'Superman’ stunt at daredevil speed.
Most netizens were amused by the stunt, with some describing it as a creative way to draw attention.
However, it was impossible to please everyone.
Facebook user Myrza Scha wrote: “Nothing to be proud of yet..”.
