KUALA LUMPUR: Lady Luck smiled broadly on a man who became the first Sabahan to win the Magnum 4D Jackpot Gold’s first prize recently.
In the blink of an eye, the 30-year-old – whose name is withheld for security reasons – became over RM10.6 million richer.
The fortunate man discovered that his life would be forever changed as he was checking 4D results on Magnum’s website on March 14. He couldn’t believe his eyes when he saw that the numbers he had bet on – 810713 + 18 – had secured him RM10,639,570.
“I was truly overwhelmed. I only realised that I had won the 4D Jackpot Gold 1 upon checking the results on Magnum’s website.
“I started playing the 4D Jackpot Gold not more than six months ago, as normally, I would play the 4D classic and the 4D Jackpot. (But) this time… I was attracted to the Jackpot prize,” said the winner.
He said 0713 is his favourite set of numbers, while 18 is his lucky number – and he had frequently bet on them for the past three years.
“I combined the numbers to play the Jackpot Gold, as the game offers up to seven prizes, which means more prizes to be won,” he added.
Jackpot Gold winning numbers are based on 4D Game results. Jackpot Gold comprises six digit numbers and two digit Golden numbers ranging from 00-19 (example: 810713 + 18).
The lucky punter said his first taste of winning – albeit on a much smaller scale – gave him the impetus to continue playing.
“When I won small prizes in Jackpot Gold, I continued to invest some of the prize money to play again. I also played mGold, as I hoped to have higher chances of winning,” he said.
mGold is another game variation of the 4D Jackpot Gold game. This new variation offers players more winning chances for a RM2 bet.
What will he do with his windfall?
The winner said he will first settle his housing and car loans in full, and also allocate a portion for a family vacation, as well as for long-term savings.
He is currently running a small enterprise, and is putting aside some of the money to expand his business.
But the man has not waited to celebrate his massive bonanza.
At the moment, he is on vacation with his family here in the capital city, as they have not visited Kuala Lumpur in 10 years.
