MARAN: Three women and a man were killed in a single-vehicle accident at Km161.4 of the East Coast Expressway heading from Kuantan to Kuala Lumpur here this morning.
All four victims, who were the occupants of a Perodua Myvi which skidded and crashed into a guardrail at 8.49am, died at the scene from severe wounds.
The vehicle was so badly damaged that the Fire and Rescue Department was forced to utilise a hydraulic saw to extricate the bodies.
“The identities of the victims are being established, and efforts to contact next of kin are underway.
“The police have begun an investigation into the tragedy” said Pahang Fire Department’s deputy director Mohd Sani Harul, adding that the remains were sent to the Sultan Haji Ahmad Shah Hospital (Hoshas) in Temerloh for further action.
