Two polytech students killed in Kuantan crash

KUANTAN: Two Politeknik Sultan Ahmad Shah students were killed in a motorcycle crash in Jalan Pintasan Kuantan near Semambu here at 12.20am.

The deceased, both aged 20, were identified as Muhamad Nor Iman Mahadi from Kota Baru, Kelantan, and Mohammad Adib Suhail Jaeh from Pulai, Johor.

District police chief Assistant Commissioner Wan Mohd Zahari Wan Busu said preliminary investigations found that the pair lost control of the motorcycle before crashing.

They were travelling from the city centre to Taman Datuk Rashid, Semambu, when the accident occurred.

"The bodies were sent to Tengku Ampuan Afzan Hospital in Kuantan for post-mortem," he said, adding that the case was being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987 for careless driving resulting in a fatal accident.
