PUTRAJAYA: Datuk Seri Najib Razak’s stepson Riza Aziz has been summoned to appear before the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) tomorrow to give his statement over the 1Malaysia Development Bhd (1MDB) scandal.
A source from MACC said that Riza, 48, is expected to be present at the graftbuster’s headquarters at Precinct 7, here, at 2pm tomorrow.
Riza, who is also a Hollywood film producer, has been linked with 1MDB via allegation of using the sovereign wealth fund’s monies to make a film.
Since May, MACC had been calling several individuals to help its probe in relation to 1MDB, including former prime minister Najib.
On May 22 and 24, Najib was summoned to the MACC headquarters to record his statements over the issue.
On June 5, his wife Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor was also summoned to MACC to give her statement over the same matter.
Last week, the 1MDB taskforce team froze over 900 accounts - including Central Umno and Umno Selangor’s - to facilitate investigation over allegation that the accounts received funds from 1MDB.
