KUALA LUMPUR: The city’s oldest lake garden, Taman Tasik Titiwangsa, will be fully closed to the public starting today to make way for the River of Life (RoL) project and upgrading works.
In May, City Hall’s Media Unit under the Corporate Planning Department announced the partial closure of the recreational park for upgrading works.
“On May 14, certain areas around the lake were closed. But now that we are entering another phase of the construction works, (we have) been advised to fully close Taman Tasik Titiwangsa over safety concerns until the RoL project is fully completed,” City Hall said in a press statement yesterday.
It said a temporary alternative path has been created for visitors who wish to continue their activities at the park.
“Although the park has been closed, we have provided joggers an alternative path outside the lake area for them to use and exercise along,” it said, adding that the public should exercise caution while in the park.
City Hall said works at the lake gardens, which are expected to be completed in 2019, will see better facilities and amenities for the convenience of future visitors
