Water disruption in Seremban, PD, Rembau continues

SEREMBAN: The water disruption in several districts caused by damaged riverbank near the Sungai Linggi water treatment plant is expected to continue, said Syarikat Air Negeri Sembilan Sdn Bhd (SAINS).

Its public relations officer Norzita Ismail said some 45,000 premise owners in parts of Seremban, Port Dickson and Rembau were affected with the water disruption which was expected to continue until Monday.

She said repair works on the collapsed structure, which started on Thursday, was ongoing.

“SAINS will ensure the affected consumers continue to receive treated water by deploying water tankers and static tanks in the said areas throughout the period.

“SAINS will also place priority on strategic areas including mosques, markets and towns, as well as urgent situations (which require large amount of water) such as funerals and events,” she said in a statement today.

She said SAINS had deployed 21 water tankers including the ones that it had rented to deliver the treated water to the affected consumers.

She said SAINS apologised for inconvenience caused and was working hard in expediting the repair works at the riverbank. Norzita said SAINS also extended its thanks to the National Water Service Commission (SPAN) for its assistance in getting cooperation from water concessionaires nationwide to deploy 17 water tankers to Port Dickson.

The Sungai Linggi water treatment plant had to be temporarily shut down due to the collapsed Sungai Linggi riverbank during a downpour on Thursday.

The affected areas in Seremban are Taman Pinggiran Senawang; Hentian Senawang; Senawang Perdana; RTM; Taman Ulu Lalang; Kampung Solok; Kampung Ribu; Kampung Sega Hilir; Jalan Kuala Sawah; Kampung Nyatoh; Rumah Rakyat Nyatoh; Taman Bandar Ekar; Pekan Rantau; Taman Rantau; Jalan Air Kuning; Taman Permata; Kampung Siliau and Kampung Sungai Sendayan.

In Rembau, the affected areas are Taman Chembong Utama; IPD Chembong; Sekolah Teknik Chembong; Ladang Batu Hampar; Halal Park; Kampung Pedas; Taman Pinggiran Pedas; Kampung Minching; Taman Pedas Indah; Kampung Sungai Ibor; Kampung Seberang Batu 2; Kampung Sungai Batu; Kampung Sungai Lalah; Taman Pedas Perdana.

Jalan Mungkal, Jalan Tok Nara; Jalan Ampang Batu; Jalan Mungkal Tobek; Jalan Tok Menteri; Jalan Tok Samad; Jalan Bunga Raya, Jalan Dato’ Keramat, Taman Exora and Kundur.

The affected areas in Port Dickson include Taman PD Perdana; Batu 4; Batu 5; Batu 6; Pekan Lukut to Bandar Springhill; Tanah Merah Site C; Port Dickson town; Bukit Pelandok and Chuah.
