SHAH ALAM: More than 90,000 water customer accounts in 31 areas in Klang experienced unscheduled water supply interruption today due to repair works conducted on a leaked main pipe.
Pengurusan Air Selangor Sdn Bhd customer relationship and communication head, Abdul Raof Ahmad said third party works had caused the leakage of a 1,050mm main pipe located near Dataran Automobil, Persiaran Selangor in Section 15, here.
The main pipe runs from the Bukit Jelutong terminal reservoir to the Lipat Kajang reservoir.
“The unscheduled water supply interruption affects 99,454 registered customer accounts. This incident has resulted in a reduction of 70 MLD (million litres per day) to the Kajang Lipat reservoir.
“Repair works will be carried out immediately and we expect completion of repair works within 24 hours,” said Raof in a statement.
The affected areas are Ambang Botanic, Bayu Perdana, Bayu Tinggi, Bayumas, Bandar Botanic, Bandar Bukit Tinggi 1 and 2, Bandar Parkland, Tengku Ampuan Rahimah Hospital, Jalan Klang Banting, Jalan Raja Nong, Johan Setia, Kem Rimba (Shah Alam), Kampung Raja Uda, Pandamaran, Persiaran Raja Muda Musa, Taman Bijaya Kampung Jawa, Taman Chi Liung, Taman Desawan, Taman Gembira, Taman Intan (Shah Alam), Taman Klang Jaya, Taman Palm Grove, Taman Petaling Indah, Taman Radzi, Taman Selatan, Taman Sentosa, Taman Sri Andalas, Taman Summit (Shah Alam), Teluk Gadong Besar and Teluk Gadong Kecil.
