KINABATANGAN: Four people were killed when a four-wheel drive they were travelling in collided with a 10-tonne lorry carrying oil palm fruit bunches this afternoon.
According to Sabah Fire and Rescue Department, a call on the accident at Kampung Paris 2 near here was received at 1.47pm and a voluntary Fire and Rescue team from Kampung Paris 2 reached the location in three minutes to provide assistance until the team from Kinabatangan Fire and Rescue Station arrived.
In the accident, all four victims travelling in a Toyota Hilux were pronounced dead at the scene by the medical officer.
The 31-year-old lorry driver was however unhurt.
The victims were two locals identified as Nurdiana Tamsi, 57, and Thambrin Beddu, 59, and an Indonesian, Anita Anwar, 41. There was no information on the other dead victim.
The remains of the victims were handed to police for further investigations. - Bernama
