KUALA KUBU BHARU: Datuk Alexander Nanta Linggi has urged security personnel to ignore offensive comments made by a small number of Malaysians.
The Domestic Trade and Consumerism Affairs Minister, in conveying his gratitude to the police and army, said the majority of Malaysians appreciated the sacrifices made by the frontliners.
“We cannot please everyone. I believe most of us Malaysians are aware of all the efforts the frontliners have put in to ensure the safety of the people and the country.”
He said this after making a surprise visit to security personnel manning roadblocks here, today.
During the visit, Alexander also presented the frontliners with face masks, hand sanitisers and lunch packs.
“My officers and I left Putrajaya this afternoon and saw many roadblocks held by the authorities to enforce the Movement Control Order.
“I realise that they must have sacrificed a lot and had to leave their families behind to ensure the safety of the public as the country is fighting Covid-19.
“So, this small donation is a token of appreciation from me as an individual and Malaysian who is aware of their sacrifices as well as other frontline workers,” he said, adding that he hoped the small contribution would boost their spirits.
