8 red zones for 2 straight days

KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysia recorded eight red Covid-19 zones as of May 13.

Among the red zone areas, Kuala Lumpur city centre recorded the highest number of active infections with 155 cases followed by Negri Sembilan's Rembau (151) and Batu (104).

The three areas were the top three for the highest Covid-19 infections on Tuesday.

Other red zone areas are Kampung Baru with 97 active cases, Kuching (68), Petaling in Selangor (61), Sri Petaling (45) and Seremban (41).

On Tuesday, the country also recorded eight red zones.

A zone, which can be a district or a locality, is marked red when there are 41 or more active cases.

There is also a decrease in the number yellow zones as Wednesday recorded 70 zones from Tuesday's 72.

There is also an increase in the number of green zones with Wednesday recording 123 zones from Tuesday's 121.

Yellow zones are districts where there are 1 to 40 active cases, while green zones are areas declared free of infections in a period of two weeks or more.
